It Ain't my fault the first poem in my book Impaired is inspired by various things. I think I speak for myself when I many people are stuck in a vicious cycle of blaming themselves for having a disability.Especially when things are going downhill “If l didn't have a disability l or my family wouldn't be in this situation.” The vicious cycle of blaming yourself can have a massive impact on your self-esteem. Henceforth I wrote this poem to remind myself never to let my disability hold me back and that it ain't our fault.

For me what got me out of this vicious cycle of blaming myself for having a disability was learning how to love myself and knowing who I am. I want to know what got you out of this vicious cycle of self-blame.
